As a result, we have taken the following actions in order to make improvements to patient care where you feel it would be most useful.

What you told us Changes we’re making

Waiting times can be long Customise more appointments that require longer appointment times eg. Cervical smears, mental health care plans, 6 week vaccinations
Booking platform has not been user friendly for some patients Reviewing our booking platform company options to optimise patient experience online.

AutoMed – New booking system

The practice and doctors are now using a new online booking system!

You can book directly on our website, or download the free “AMS Connect” App.

The new booking platform (powered by AutoMed Systems) improves patient data privacy and security, and also provides improved functionality in the booking system to help the doctors and clinic focus on providing a quality service.

AutoMed Systems does not collect or store patient data – patients do not register or make an account with AutoMed to make online appointments, as it uses an authorised interface to the clinic’s software to validate patient data in real-time, every time an appointment is made via any of the AutoMed platforms.

The App/browser allows you to save your (and your family members’) details for future use, but unlike other third-party medical booking systems, this data is not retained or owned by AutoMed, and will never be sold to other companies. All patient data is stored and maintained securely by individual medical practices only.

AutoMed Systems also provides more functionality to better improve how doctors service their patients, allocate resources to different appointment types, and ensure the payments system is compliant with the complex regulations regarding medical consultation payments.

It uses a secure payments system, with the practice also able to store a unique secure token of a patient’s payment details for future use if the patient consents (without the actual card number being visible or stored by either AutoMed or the practice).

The video telehealth feature within the AMS Connect app allows patients to easily connect with their doctor on a video telehealth appointment.

It will allow the practice and doctors to maintain a robust secure SMS notification system regarding test results, clinical recalls and reminders, to help their patients efficiently keep track of their health needs and outcomes.

All SMS from the practice will come from the same mobile number, so if you save this number in your phone’s contact list, you can be sure the SMS is coming from the practice.

If you have any queries about this change, please feel free to contact our friendly receptionists on (02) 8999 3393.
