GENERAL PRACTICE medical services, provided by Specialist GPs and Registrar GPs, including:

Preventative Health

The GPs provide general health checks, screening referrals (eg. cancer, osteoporosis), advice on smoking, alcohol, weight etc.

Chronic disease management

The GPs provide regular, ongoing care for all chronic medical conditions to help optimise the management of your condition eg. asthma, diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, emphysema, cancer etc. The GPs can facilitate care with your treating specialists and/or allied health practitioners


The GPs provide advice and access to a vast array of immunisations, including childhood immunisations, influenza, pneumonia, whooping cough, travel, occupational etc.

Private stock is available on-site for a number of vaccinations, including Influenza vax, Pertussis/Whooping cough (Boostrix), Chickenpox (Varicella), Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, and Yellow Fever vaccination.

The GPs encourage Whooping cough vaccination for all parents & carers of newborn babies.

The GPs provide advice on travel health, vaccinations and medications.

All the GPs consulting at North Ryde Medical Centre are Government-accredited to provide Yellow Fever vaccination. Yellow Fever vaccination stock is available on-site, and you can be provided with a stamped, official WHO International Certificate of Vaccination.

Child Health

The GPs provide health checks and vaccinations for newborns and children (“Blue Book” Schedule: 1-4 weeks, 6 weeks, 4 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years), and all other infant/toddler/child issues regarding health, growth, development, feeding etc.

The GPs can also discuss with you additional vaccinations available to help protect your child, that may be beneficial but not funded by the Government as part of the National Immunisation Program.

Adolescent Health

The GPs provide consultations dealing with common adolescent health concerns, including puberty, menstruation, sexual health, mental health etc.

Women's Health

The GPs provide consultations on all aspects of women’s health, including family planning, sexual health, cervical screening test (CST) (previously called “Pap smear”), breast checks etc.

Men's Health

The GPs provide consultations on all aspects of men’s health, including family planning, sexual health etc.

Contraception/Family Planning

The GPs provide advice on contraception, pregnancy planning, early pregnancy testing and referrals, fertility issues etc.

Seniors Health

The GPs cater for all aspects of care for seniors, including health assessments, immunisation, chronic disease management etc.

Mental Health

The GPs provide medical consultations for mental health disorders, eg. depression, anxiety, and facilitate referrals to psychiatric or psychological services where required.

Psychology and counselling services are also available through the very experienced independent psychologists Dr Lynette Hung and Rose Kwon who also consult at North Ryde Medical Centre. Medicare rebates may be available if you qualify for a GP Mental Health Care Plan referral (please see a GP to see if you are eligible).

Skin checks

The GPs provide general skin checks and biopsies where required

Minor surgical procedures

The GPs perform minor skin surgical procedures such as biopsies and excisions of moles/cancers; wound/laceration repair (please note private gap fees apply to cover cost of equipment)

Employment-related medicals

The GPs perform employment-related medical examinations for regular patients (not available for new patients) – (please note private fees apply – no Medicare rebate)


The GPs perform ECG (electrocardiogram) tests where required
